Although Stephanie Meyers’ renowned Twilight series takes place in Forks, WA, roughly 200 miles to the northwest of Portland, much of the original and subsequent movies were filmed in Old Towne St. Helens, less than hour’s drive outside of the city. We’ll explore many of the filming sites throughout St. Helens and the surrounding areas, stopping for iconic pictures and watching clips of the movie en route. In addition to being a Twilighter, your guide is a professional naturalist and will take you on a guided walk looking for herons, eagles, osprey, otters, and other wetland wildlife along the way. Nearby Sauvie Island is a local favorite hotspot, for both its natural and historical attractions, as well as its excellent variety of local farms and organic produce. We’ll enjoy an interpretive nature hike through the Sauvie Island Wildlife Area, and visit a farm stand or two to savor some of the best fruits of the Pacific Northwest!
