Escape Plan:
This ultimate escape offers a visit to Sunrise at Mt. Rainier as well as the new Mt Rainier Gondola at Crystal Mountain Resort including a gourmet dinner at the Summit House. Cupped between the jagged Olympic Mountains to the west and the volcanic peaks of the Cascade Range to the east we head for the tallest peak of them all, Mount Rainier, standing at 14,411 feet.

The "mountain" is an active volcano encased in over 35 square miles of snow and ice, surrounded by old growth forest and stunning wildflower meadows. Sunrise is equally stunning and magical as Paradise, but kind of a "locals secret". Sunrise is the highest point that can be reached by vehicle in the Park or the Carbon River Glacier, which is the lowest glacier in elevation in the lower 48! We will take out the binoculars and spot for birds and wildlife, marmots, coyotes, elk, deer, fox and black bear roaming the mountainside.

After an exhilarating hike at Sunrise with time for a visit to the Sunrise Visitor Center we will head to our next high…Crystal Mountain Resort. Arriving at Crystal Mountain, our escape continues with a ride aboard the new Mt Rainier Gondola starting at 4,000 ft and ascending to the famous Summit House restaurant. The restaurant is located at over 7,000 ft. providing the ultimate high altitude dining experience. Before dinner your naturalist mountain guide will lead you on a short hike at the summit of Crystal Mountain with plenty of time for incredible photo opportunities of the White River Valley, Mt Rainier, and on a clear day views as far north to Mt Baker and the Canadian border and as far south as Mt St Helens, Mt Adams, and Mt Hood, Oregon.
