Activities: Sailing aboard a 34-foot sloop, marine wildlife spotting, intertidal beach walks and natural history explorations.

A highly qualified naturalist guide and an experienced sailboat captain provide comfortable travel aboard a 34-foot sloop, serving morning & afternoon tea with pastry & cookies, northwest style “On Safari” lunch or picnic, selected Washington wines and refreshments.
Escape Plan:
The goal of this adventure is to experience the wildlife-rich waters of Puget Sound and take in sweeping saltwater vistas while relaxing aboard Charlie, a gracious 34-foot sloop sailboat. Depending on wind conditions and currents we will also be able to explore either the historical port town of Kingston or Blake Island, a state park with hiking trails and pristine beach walks. Our adventure starts on the south shore of Lake Union, where clients can admire historical wooden boats and unique perspectives of Seattle’s skyline. We will then make our way from the freshwater Lake Union through a canal and the historical Hiram M. Chittenden locks to the saltwater of Puget Sound. Sailing will allow us to travel calmly and quietly as your experienced crew points out the plethora of marine wildlife that is often missed by motor boats. We will pass by a raucous sea lion hangout and revel in the sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains and Mt. Rainier. It is common to see bald eagles, harbor seals, Dall's porpoises, vast kelp beds and many different types of sea birds. There is also always a chance of seeing humpback whales and Orcas as well!
