Escape Plan:
We make our way 30 minutes south to the charming city of Tacoma. First, we walk across the Chihuly Bridge of Glass, a 500-foot- long pedestrian bridge that links the heart of Downtown Tacoma to the waterfront and Museum of Glass. The bridge features three glass art instillations from Tacoma-native Dale Chihuly including the Crystal Towers, the Venetian Wall and the Seaform Pavilion. At the Museum of Glass, watch as artists skillfully work with molten glass while creating sizzling masterpieces in the iconic Hot Shop then explore the exhibits featuring rotating exhibits from artists around the world. Next, create your own masterpiece and personal souvenir at the Tacoma Glassblowing Studio. Learn how to blow a glass bowl, ornament or paperweight and be a part of the action! After a morning of fiery kilns and hot glass, cool down and relax at the 702-acre Point Defiance Park. We commune with nature while enjoying the park’s natural forests, thematic gardens and saltwater beaches. Spectacular views and peaceful sights a wait! Take pleasure in the sights, sounds and smells of the Puget Sound.
