Muddy Shoe Adventures (MSA) & Evergreen Escapes are proud to present this sample overview of a facilitated Team Adventure at Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort (NBWR). Team Adventures can be held at NBWR from May—October. NBWR is an intimate, family-owned and operated resort located in the middle of the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia. Explore the beautiful wilderness on land, on water, or by helicopter. Nimmo Bay offers an endless array of adventure options including: Bear Watching, Fishing, Hiking, Glacier Tours, Kayaking, Whale Watching, Rainforest Tours, and Cultural Experiences. Your team will stay in intertidal cabins, feast on fresh coastal cuisine, and relax in the cedar hot tubs while listening to the sounds of the water crashing down from the onsite waterfall. Take the opportunity to unplug, relax, and slow down to the rhythms of nature as you enjoy an active yet peaceful stay in the remote wilderness without having to give up any of the comforts of home. Along the way, your Program Leaders will take you on a journey of exploration and discovery as you deepen your understanding of self and other team members, improve communication skills, drive innovative collaboration, and foster team building.

Day 1 | Arrive at Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort & Guided Hike

Arrive at Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort via floatplane, where your MSA Team Adventures Program Leaders will greet you. After lunch, take time to relax, unpack, and settle into your cabin before embarking on a hike through the Great Bear Rainforest led by Nimmo Bay’s expert guides. Afterwards, our journey of exploration and discovery begins in earnest as your Program Leaders invite you to tell your collective story: Strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and challenges, and goals for this adventure. As we wind down our conversation for the evening, hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served on the deck side lounge and floating lodge. A gourmet 3 course coastal feast and house made decadent dessert is soon to follow. After dinner, enjoy a waterfall hot tub, a billiards game, a massage, or relax around our floating moonlit fire pit.

Day 2 | Kayaking Adventure

Begin the day with a selection of optional early morning activities from the lodge including a vigorous morning yoga class to awaken the body, a relaxing soak in the hot tub and outdoor rain shower, or sleep in and let the aromas of homemade cinnamon buns and organic coffee awake you. A three-course breakfast is served in our floating lodge complete with a fresh squeezed juice bar, healthy smoothies, and infused waters. After filling up, we’ll head out for a day of adventure! We’ll load the kayaks onto our boat and head out to the Broughton Archipelago’s remote islands and explore this unique part of the BC coast. After lunch on the beach, we’ll return to the Resort for an afternoon of reflection and meaningful conversations about our kayaking adventure.

Take time before dinner to relax or treat yourself to a massage or enjoy the hot tub at the bottom of the cascading waterfall before taking a dip in the refreshing waterfall plunge pool. Cocktails are served on our floating fire deck followed by a coastal appetizer and four-course gourmet dinner and mouth watering, in-house-made dessert. All breads and pastries are made fresh in our on-site bakery. Relax beneath the stars that you have never seen shine so bright. Enjoy an after dinner drink while you are serenaded by that evening’s musical offering.

Day 3 | Whale-Watching Adventure

After another morning of indulgence and delicious food, we’ll take a 25-minute open Zodiac boat trip to where the whales are feeding. Watch in awe as the playful Orcas and Humpbacks put on a truly once-in-a-lifetime show. This experience will not only teach us about communication and collaboration, but on a more personal level, it is sure to give you a real sense of perspective on your life and your work. After lunch, we’ll dive into conversations and breakout sessions designed to explore the whale-watching experience at a deeper level and help your team use the adventure as a metaphor for enhancing communication and collaboration in the work environment. You’ll have free time before dinner to relax into a restorative yoga class to ease your muscles and balance the mind or enjoy any of the many other activities and amenities at the Resort. We’ll break out the guitars after dinner for an unforgettable evening of singing, dancing, and fun!

Day 4 | Program Ends & Depart from Nimmo Bay Resort

The final day of our program begins with a special breakfast prepared by the Nimmo Bay Resort staff. Afterwards, you’ll be guided through a series of discussions and activities that will utilize the adventure experiences of the past 3 days to help your group shift perspectives of self and community, create a vision for the culture of collaboration and communication that will best serve your group, and develop strategies and action plans for making that vision a reality. We will end the program before lunch with an inspirational and powerful Closing Ceremony. After lunch, spend time on your own enjoying the Resort before catching the floatplane to Port Hardy and flight back to Vancouver.
