4-Day Canoeing & Mountain Biking Team Adventure in North Cascades National Park

All-Inclusive | Facilitated Team Adventure Sample Itinerary

4 Day | 3 Night

North Cascades National Park is nicknamed the “American Alps” for a reason: It is one of the most remote and rugged parks in the U.S., and any adventure into its solitude and grandeur is unforgettable. Explore the park’s alpine meadows, cross its rocky ridges, and see its endless sea of jagged peaks veneered by blue glaciers. The North Cascades are also home to powerful rivers that wind through towering, glacier-capped peaks, and we will embark on a journey to experience it all. We might meander along the forested shores of Lake Diablo or push on up to Cascade Pass for a stunning view of some of the largest glaciers in North Cascades National Park. In this incredible location, your team will be supported yet challenged by our Program Leaders to push their individual and collective comfort zones, move beyond old ways of thinking and interacting, and create new approaches to teamwork, collaboration, and communication.

Facilitated team adventures are proudly presented by Muddy Shoe Adventures & Evergreen Escapes. Learn more about our process and philosophy here.

Explore inlets, islands, and Thunder Arm by tandem canoe. You can also opt for a guided canoe ride in a custom Salish-style 18 person canoe built in the style used by indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest. We’ll return to Sun Mountain Lodge for lunch, and then spend the afternoon in powerful meetings and discussions that utilize the canoeing experience as a touchstone for reflection, personal leadership development, and emotional intelligence. Enjoy time relaxing before dinner and an evening of fun!

Day 3 | Mountain Biking Adventure

A morning of mountain biking awaits! On this exciting 3-hour mountain biking excursion, your team will be challenged to develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the adventure and then collaborate and communicate effectively to ensure that everyone completes the ride safely. After lunch, we’ll dive into conversations and breakout sessions designed to explore the mountain biking experience at a deeper level and help your team use the adventure as a metaphor for strategic planning, communication, and collaboration in the work environment. You’ll have free time before dinner to enjoy the Lodge’s amenities, gather with colleagues, or take personal time for reflection and relaxation. A delicious dinner will be followed by a guided stargazing experience!

Day 4 | Program Ends & Departure from Sun Mountain Lodge

The final day of our program begins with a special breakfast prepared by the Sun Mountain Lodge staff. Afterwards, you’ll be guided through a series of discussions and activities that will utilize the adventure experiences of the past 3 days to help your group shift perspectives of self and community, create a vision for the culture of collaboration and communication that will best serve your group, and develop strategies and action plans for making that vision a reality. We will officially close the program before lunch with an inspirational and powerful Closing Ceremony. After lunch, you will be transferred back to Seattle.
