OS Winery, Seattle, WA

Along with sharing a common location, all of the wineries we visit share the vision of creating world-class wine from the finest Washington vineyards. Our Urban Winery Tour highlights three unique, award-winning boutique wineries in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. The focus is education and enjoyment as you meet with winemakers, tour wineries and of course, taste wine.

We will visit three of these select wineries:

  • Made entirely from Northwest grapes, Jody Elsom of Elsom Cellars, is defining the craft of Northwest wines. It’s been said that wine reflects its environment. Elsom Cellars’ wines are filled with the clatter of artisans working hard at their winemaking craft while sharing stories and laughs. It’s hard to explain, but somehow it all ends up in the bottle. Their style is old-world and unfiltered, which makes for delicious wines.
  • A small and authentic boutique winery, producing 2500 cases per year, Bartholomew Winery excels in breaking the normal rules of wine making. The winemaker’s chemistry degree and carefully sourced, 100% Washington grapes, lead way to amazing sensations on the palate.
  • OS Winery is devoted to producing opulent, voluptuous, concentrated wines from one of Washington’s finest vineyards: Sheridan. The winery’s blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot are pleasingly youthful while also showing great balance.
  • Born of humble beginnings making wine in a friend’s garage, the owners of Structure Cellars have made the leap into making refined, complex wines. Tasting in their fermentation space and barrel room brings the winemaking process to the forefront.
  • The wines from Cloudlift Cellars are made for transformative dining experiences, as the winemaker, Tom Stangeland, crafts his wines with food pairings in mind. The wines feature enough acid so that they complement a meal instead of overshadowing it, and they tend to be lower in alcohol, so that your night with friends and family can last longer.

[tab title=”FAQ”]

1. What should we wear/bring on our escape?

  • We recommend wearing layers that you can add if there is wind or rain, and remove when there is sunshine. Comfortable walking shoes will allow you to explore further at some of our stops. It’s always a good idea to bring sunglasses and a camera! We provide reusable water bottles, along with other snacks and refreshments. See more on how to Pack and Prepare.

2. How strenuous is this? How much experience do I need to have?

  • All of our scheduled departures are meant for beginners (easy to moderate). We try to cater our tours to all ability and interest levels – and this really depends on the group that day. Your Escape artist will choose the difficulty of the physical activity based on the group’s interest and ability level. If you are interested in a different level, we can certainly put together a private itinerary specifically for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions regarding specific questions!

3. Can I have vegetarian/ special diet food?

  • Yes. Please advise us if you have any food restrictions or requests, we can accommodate vegetarian diets, lactose intolerant diets, and often times can also accommodate gluten free diets when given enough notice.

4. What is your Cancellation Policy?

5. Should I get Travel Insurance?

  • We recommend that you do. Travel insurance can be purchased to cover penalty costs in the event you need to cancel or change your travel plans (subject to approval of claim by the insurer). It also can provide medical and emergency assistance protection as well as some loss and delay coverage.

6. Should I tip my guide?

  • We take great personal and professional pride in orchestrating rich and memorable adventures for each and every client we engage with, sometimes our clients are inspired to show their appreciation in the form of a gratuity. While gratuities are not an expectation, our guides traditionally receive an amount consistent with the rest of the service industry in the U.S., somewhere between 10% and 20%.
