Tour Feedback & Notes from Travelers

To stay relevant, competitive, and visible online – our little team needs (and loves!) feedback. Your suggestions keep our tours on top and your kindness keeps our guides running strong all year!

A great experience largely due to the guide, Jordan. He was amazing and made our day. Jordan was not only knowledgeable about the nuances of the area, but he was also friendly, accommodating (he had to back track twice for forgotten items), and professional. Whatever you’re paying him, it’s not enough…
Really enjoyed the small group size (6 adults). It made the experience feel more intimate and allowed everyone to get to know each other. Wineries selected were great (smaller, more intimate) but the wine quality was not as strong as I would have liked.  Overall, a fabulous day and the highlight of our 4 days in Oregon.

I went with 2 friends in June so weren’t expecting snow but that’s what we got!! It was actually fantastic and so beautiful! Preston (our guide) was fantastic – was prepared for all levels of skill, had snowshoes and extra jackets (since we weren’t planning on snow/cold!). He planned the day perfectly and had a great personality! He was knowledgeable and made to connect in some way with each person on the trip. I definitely would recommend this organization and request Preston if you can! Definitely gave a bitesize to make me want to go back to Seattle to visit Mt Rainier again!

We had an absolutely terrific, enjoyable, relaxing, and educational afternoon with Marcus and the new friends we made on our Columbia Gorge Waterfall and Winery Tour!! Cannot recommend enough, from easy, on time hotel pick up by Marcus, and comfortable touring van, and delightful, informative tour by Marcus, who told us so much about the beautiful scenery, geography, history, rocks, plants…so, so much! And then to the wineries! So fun! I highly recommend!!!

If you’re looking for a great full day adventure worth every penny take a trip with Evergreen. We looked at many and so glad we picked them. They knew all the wonderful places to go hiking and our guide made it a fun filled day.

This was by far one of the best tours I have been on! Paul, our guide, was so knowledgeable and accommodating! He gave us so much information on the history of Portland while on our journey to the Gorge and wineries. He was also very willing to answer all of our questions. The wineries were also incredible. Everyone was so friendly! I definitely recommend this tour! It makes visiting the waterfalls and wineries very easy, stress-free, informative, and fun!

My wife and myself decided that since we would be in Seattle for a full week and are from the East coast we better take the opportunity to see what the Pacific Northwest was like. We did a quick google search for best guided hiking in Seattle and Evergreen Escapes – Mt. Rainer day tour popped up. We thought that was the best option and boy were we correct.

The company called us and confirmed our reservation and informed us that we would be picked up at our Airbnb at 7:30am. Shawn was our guide and was there at exactly 7:30am right outside and greeted us with a very nice and warm welcome. From the first minutes that we started our trip to the very end he was so upbeat, positive and full of information.

The hike from beginning to end was beyond what we ever imagined it would be. Shawn literally knew everything about the National Park and shared with us as much as humanly possible to enrich our experience.

The hiking we did was great. We went on maybe 4-5 small quick hikes where we got to see so many different areas of the park and got to experience so many different views of not only the park but also Mt. Rainer itself (which will get way more into soon). At every stop Shawn shared so much knowledge with us that it really made us all understand just how special the area was.

When we finally got up to Mt. Rainer it just might have been the most spectacular and breathtaking thing we had ever done. First, we got to snowshoe hike 1.5 miles to the mountain which was a great and fun experience but once we got to the mountain it was something else. The beauty and serenity of Mt. Rainer was unmatched and unparalleled. We spent close to an hour just admiring the mountain, taking pictures and taking the whole experience in. Shawn showed us a spot where we could get a clear view of Mt. St. Helen and other mountain ranges in the greater Washington area.

I cannot say this enough but this hiking tour was made perfect not only by where we were but by just how amazing Shawn was at his job. The food throughout the day was great, they picked us up and dropped us off right outside our Airbnb and got us back exactly when they said they would.

We give this tour a 100/100 and if we ever make it back to Seattle will most definitely be doing this Evergreen Escapes Mt. Rainer tour again.

We were highly impressed with our Evergreen Escapes experience! It was so convenient to be picked up in downtown Seattle and driven out to Mt. Rainier. The drive up was gorgeous. Once we arrived, we snowshoed up the mountain and observed Mt. Rainier. The snowshoeing was not too difficult and the views were stunning. After, we took a quick hike in the forest and observed trees, moss, lichen, wildlife, etc. We absolutely loved our tour guide, Emma. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We learned so much on this trip! We forgot a few items and Emma even had extras which was also helpful. The lunch and snacks were great; we tried some local wine with lunch. Overall, highly recommend this trip and company. We would book another tour with Evergreen Escapes in a heartbeat!

We had the most wonderful adventure with your company! Anastasia “Asia” was a phenomenal tour guide. She had a wealth of historical, biological and geological information about the area; we were fascinated by her knowledge and her ability to teach in a meaningful and fun way. The tour allowed us to spend a day outside of the city and take in the beauty of the Oregon countryside. The Colombia Gorge was breathtaking along with the many waterfalls we experienced along the way. The final two stops were at wineries. Asia had a lovely platter of meat and cheeses for us to enjoy with our tastings. The servers at the wineries indulged us with a generous variety of tastings and they too were both personable and knowledgeable. We would have never been able to have the experience that we had, on this half day tour, if we had ventured out on our own. It was a fabulous afternoon. Finally, I can’t say enough about Asia as a tour guide, she was the kind of person who felt like an old friend at the conclusion of our journey. I will be recommending your company and this tour to anyone I know visiting the Portland area.

We had Jeff as our guide and I’d highly recommend him and this trip if you are considering it. The national Park is beautiful but having someone with the inside knowledge was priceless. Jeff was full of facts and added his own special flair with his knowledge of the different birds! He was willing to take pictures of the group at any point and really gave us several options on what we wanted to make the most of the trip. We started off snowshoeing from Paradise up the path to Mt. Ranier and made it up to get a gorgeous view. We then had a tasty lunch with wine! After lunch we visited multiple waterfalls and took a few more hikes to finish the day. I’m looking forward to coming back and booking another trip with Evergreen specifically with Jeff.

We absolutely loved our tour. Spencer was the greatest. We could not believe the beauty of the valley. We had a truly great experience of all three wineries we visited. Spencer went out of his way to make us comfortable. He even made fresh pressed French coffee in the middle of the woods for us all. We had a wonderful lunch and a great experience drinking wine without worrying about driving. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has not experienced the the beauty of Oregon Wine Country.

I took the full-day 12-hour tour of Olympic National Park Tour with Marty from Evergreen Escapes and it was awesome! I traveled solo to Seattle and wanted to visit ONP for the longest time. Everything went smoothly. Marty told us interesting facts about Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula region on our way there and all of the passengers became completely comfortable with one another within the first hour. As for the tour itself: water, snacks, and lunch were provided. Transportation on land and by ferry were included. Marty always made sure everyone was comfortable with the varying levels of difficulty of the hikes in Olympic National Park. Everyone was in good spirits and we saw deer, chipmunks, and even a mama black bear with her cubs in Hurricane Ridge (which is supposedly very rare there)! Overall, I had an amazing time and I have plenty of photos to remember this by. (Thanks, Marty, for letting me ask you to take a million photos of me in the mountains haha). If you’re thinking of exploring the nature of northwestern Washington with a tour group, don’t think twice. This tour blew me away and exceeded my expectations. I’d do it again in a heartbeat!

We were the last 2 seats on the bus. Marissa was so helpful and organised. She really looked after everyone of our group of 9. She was extremely knowledgeable and clearly loved what she does. The food was tasty, healthy and plentiful. We had plenty of opportunities to stop for pictures. Snow shoes were supplied and we had a great walk through the snow for great photo opportunities. There were spectacular falls, great mountain views and a beautiful old forest to walk through. If you want a great, all day experience book this tour. We had amazing weather which added to our experience. An extremely professional operator.

Evergreen Escapes did a fantastic job serving the top executives in our company. The Willamette Valley Waterfalls and Wine tour was a unique and custom way to show off the Pacific Northwest to our executives from all over the US and Canada. The farm to table lunch option was upscale and interactive. I would highly recommend a tour like this for businesses.

We have been on many small group tours in our travels and this rates as one of the best! We had a group of 6 which gave us plenty of room in the comfy 10 passenger van. Preston was our guide. He told us many interesting facts and stories. Ask him for the mouse story! We had spectacular weather and were lucky enough to see the very impressive Mount Rainer several times when it peeled out of the clouds. We walked through an old growth forest at lower elevation and were able to snow shoe at Paradise. Preston made many stops for photos and restrooms. We were able to do everything we wanted and more. Lunch was much nicer than I expected with gourmet foods. Pick up and drop off were convenient. Overall a perfect day. Highly recommend.

Chris, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the history and geological evolution of the Columbia River and gorge. He also knew a great deal about the Oregon portion of the Columbia Valley AVA and the history of its wine producers, most of whom came from France. Not only was our afternoon enhanced with interesting subject matter, but it was full of gorgeous scenery, including waterfalls and lookouts over the Columbia River and basin. The vineyards were also quite lovely, all on a spectacularly beautiful day in late September.

First off I can’t say enough about our tour guide Jann. She was a great story teller and very knowledgeable and passionate about the mountain. A true teacher at heart! Throughout the day she made sure everyone had everything they needed.
We stopped by a lake for coffee on the way to the mountain which was the perfect way to start the day and ended with a really nice lunch. We were lucky to have great weather and the views were breathtaking! Even got to see Mount St Helens in the distance!
We had a group of 10 with people from all over the world. A couple from Shanghai, someone from Australia, another from Belgium, and the rest of us from different parts of the US.
I would highly recommend this trip and I’m sure any trip through Evergreen Escapes. We will always know where to find serenity 🙂 Thanks Jann!

From the moment we met Aaron, he treated us like we were the only ones on the tour. Being a full time history teacher, he was very knowledgeable on the region and the natural creation of the volcano and lava tubes. Lunch was amazing as well as the many snacks, tea and coffee he provided. This was the best of the 3 tours that we took out of Portland. He was very well prepared for us, even down to the extra jackets. We look forward to going with Aaron and Evergreen Escapes Portland again.

The Guide – Eric was so kind and welcoming. His passion for nature and plants made the tour incrementally better. He was knowledgeable and patient and you could tell he was eager as well as grateful to share the beauty of the park.
Communication: The company sent thorough emails with tips for the tour, they confirmed the day before, pick up was exactly on time.
The Day: The trip itself was perfectly timed with enough bathroom breaks, snacks, and a delicious lunch (with wine!).
The Park: I was only in town for 3 days and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to eat up one full day with a trip to a National Park – I’m very very glad I did! It was grand and quiet and beautiful only in the way nature can be.

-SadiaUSA (TripAdvisor Review)

I participated in two tours with Evergreen Escapes with Spencer as my guide. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. His knowledge of the region and his passion for all things Oregonian were evident throughout. The tours are well run and really give you a chance to experience the beauty of this region with waterfalls and wineries and the beauty and majesty of the region. We also had ample opportunity to visit and sample the variety of wines produced here. What a glorious two days I had seeing and experiencing this wonderful part of the world.

We had just a great time in this tour.
The guide Justin Explained everything we wanted to know.
His driving was great.
All the scenery was just beautiful.
They provide us a good lunch.
We enjoyed the company in our tour too.
Good environment, great car, and
nice tour guide.
I will definitely join this tour again.
Next time, Mt. Rainier?

An outstanding trip to Olympic National Park, the day was perfectly planned with the right amount of walking. The views were stunning and to top the day we saw a bear! Sean, our guide was superb and engaged easily with everyone. An absolutely memorable day never to be forgotten.

-Jared J. (TripAdvisor Review)

Perfect way to end our trip in Seattle. Kevin, our guide, was so informative, very knowledgeable, and he has quite a laidback attitude. We managed to obtain some phenomenal photos! I loved every stop and the super healthy food/drinks they provided. We had lunch by the beautiful Madison creek and we got to hike to the waterfall, which took less 5 minutes to do. We had some protein bars and baked goods as snacks. For lunch, we had kale salad, tofu, grilled chicken, and some red wine. Dessert was oatmeal and chocolate cookies!
Just a bit of a warning, when you get up to Hurricane Ridge, it is a bit of a hike so bring your hiking shoes and a cheerful attitude 🙂
Although it’s a 12-hour tour, it was all well worth it. They are willing to pick you up and drop you off at any hotels in downtown Seattle area. If you are staying outside of their pick up area, they will meet you in any downtown Seattle hotels near where you’re staying or get picked up in Monaco hotel which is less than a block from Seattle Central Library. My friends and I were staying at a bed and breakfast in North Seattle but we didn’t have any issues commuting. We took the Rapid Ride bus to Monaco, and pretty much to everywhete. I highly recommend Evergreen to anyone. 5/5
