British Columbia – Canada
The Wickaninnish Inn, Tofino Canada, has become a landmark – the enchanting and critically acclaimed destination on the awesome western edge of beautiful British Columbia. No trip to BC – and indeed, Canada – should be made without experiencing this remarkable Tofino destination.
The Wickaninnish Inn offers direct access to Chesterman Beach, and panoramic ocean or beach views from every guest room. Enjoy one of 75 deluxe guest rooms and suites (with fireplace, soaker tub and individual balcony), and a 720 sq. ft. meeting/banquet room (accommodating up to 60 people). The Pointe Restaurant seats 75 and the full-service Ancient Cedars Spa is a destination spa offering extensive body and esthetic treatments.
Throughout the year, you can enjoy a complimentary Saturday morning nature hike through the rainforest and along the beach, lead by a local naturalist guide. In the winter months, storm watching is more than just a past time on this rugged coast. Between November first and the end of February, you can experience the fury of a West Coast winter storm up close. Watch it all from the comfort of your fireplace-warmed suite, unless you’re feeling adventurous. Full rain gear is provided in each and every guest room and rubber boots sized to fit are also available so guests can enjoy their own walk on the beach or through the rainforest in comfort and style without taking up precious luggage space. Additionally there is a drying unit in the Driftwood Café, so guests can hang up whatever is wet, turn on the boot dryer and enjoy a specialty coffee, hot tea or soothing hot cocoa by a crackling wood fire while everything is dries within 15 minutes. Or perhaps you’ll choose the Lookout Library, for games, Stave Puzzles, and a selection of periodicals, with an expansive view of the waves rolling onto Chesterman Beach.
The onsite restaurants work closely with the Tofino-Ucluelet Culinary Guild to source B.C. based seafood, game and produce suppliers to stock the kitchens with local and organic ingredients. The Pointe Restaurant is one of Tofino’s top restaurants and offers over 240 degrees of Pacific Ocean viewscape. On the Rocks Lounge offers an excellent selection of Pacific Northwest wines and one of B.C.’s largest selections of single-malt scotches. Lastly, the Driftwood Café, nestled on the beach level, offers a range of specialty espresso drinks, fruit smoothies and spa-inspired fare, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a light breakfast, afternoon snack, or evening appetizers.
