Willows Inn on Lummi Island

Lummi Island, Washington – USA

The Willows Inn on Lummi Island has opened its doors to guests for 103 years. And, in many ways, time has stood still in The Willows’ world, where American eagles soar, days melt passively, and barred owls punctuate silent nights.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll find every member of The Willows Inn team committed to providing an intimate, comfortable, and extraordinary experience of island charm, in addition to a uniquely sublime, prix fixe dinner. The staff takes pleasure in designing your personalized stay as a special guest of The Willows Inn on Lummi Island, charted from a variety of activities.

Dinner

The main dining room hosts dinner by widely-acclaimed Chef Blaine Wetzel every Thursday-Sunday by reservation only. The prix fixe menu is locally fished, foraged, and farmed, and the chefs determine meals by seasonal ingredients. The chefs often visit table-side and talk to you about where the food came from and how they prepared it.

You’ll experience salmon caught around the corner and cooked to moist tenderness right on the Willows Inn grounds in the specialty smokehouse; seaweed gathered from the beach out front, and berries plucked from the back fields. Wetzel’s food brings you into an intimate relationship with the landscape he loves, allowing you to touch, taste, see and smell the ocean, the coastal lands, the soft gray light on the water.

Chef Blaine earned a nomination this year from the James Beard Foundation as one of the nation’s top five Rising Star Chefs of the Year. And, Bon Appetit named The Willows Inn on Lummi Island No. 3 among Food Lover’s Hotels in the U.S.
