Experience Yosemite’s mammoth granite domes, ancient Giant sequoias, and vibrant wildlife. Visit international icons such as Bridalveil Falls, the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, Yosemite Valley, El Capitan, and Half Dome, and take to the trails on fully-guided interpretative nature walks to experience flora and fauna through the eyes of a naturalist.

  • Fresh, gourmet picnic lunches are included in the tour price along with breakfast pastries, snacks, and refreshments throughout the day. We can also accommodate dietary restrictions with advance notice.
  • Our guides are seasoned pros and craft each tour to the conditions of the day and interests of our guests. But don’t just take our word for it – read our reviews on TripAdvisor!

Yosemite Tour from San Francisco

Arguably the most magnificent national park in the nation, Yosemite National Park is home to hundreds of wildlife species, thousands of plant species, countless waterfalls, and more than 1,000 square miles of wild terrain.  Famed naturalist and conservationist John Muir, a staunch advocate for the creation of the park, called Yosemite, “by far the grandest of all the special temples of nature (he) was ever permitted to enter.”

On this full-day Yosemite tour from San Francisco, we’ll travel by luxury vehicle to Yosemite Valley. Millions of years ago, the Valley was the scene of an epic clash of glacier and granite that produced a landscape of sheer cliffs, glacier-carved granite domes, and waterfalls that are among the world’s tallest.

As you revel in Bridalveil Falls, El Capitan, and other lesser-known highlights of Yosemite, your guide will peel away the layers of natural history that formed the Valley. We’ll also watch for deer, bears, and other wildlife that frequent the area.

Sequoias, Sentinels, or Snow

Bear Hides in the Trees in Yosemite National ParkAfter savoring a gourmet, family-style lunch immersed in the fantastic beauty of the park, we continue our Yosemite Tour based on the conditions of the day and interests of the group. We may walk up Sentinel Dome for sweeping panoramic views of the Park, explore Tuolumne Grove to marvel at towering Giant Sequoias, or stroll along the peaceful alpine shores of Tenaya Lake. As snow blankets Yosemite in the winter, we may also take advantage of lighter tourist traffic to spend more time experiencing Yosemite Valley on a walk on the shimmering Mirror Lake Trail.

Throughout your Yosemite Tour, your naturalist guide will tell the story of Yosemite National Park from its designation as one of America’s earliest natural preserves to its current status as an international symbol of conservation. From the Native Americans who lived off these lands to conservationists like John Muir who sought to preserve it for future generations, Yosemite embodies the delicate relationship between humans and nature.

[tab title=”FAQ”]

1. What should we wear/bring on our escape?

  • Because Pacific Northwest weather can be unpredictable, we recommend wearing removable layers. We also suggest wearing comfortable walking shoes so you can explore further at some of our stops. Finally, it’s always a good idea to bring sunglasses and a camera!  We will provide reusable water bottles, along with other snacks and refreshments. You can also view our Pack and Prepare page for more information.

2. How strenuous is the tour?

  • All of our scheduled departures are meant for beginners (easy to moderate). Therefore, we try to cater our tours to all ability and interest levels, which depends on the group that day. Your Escape artist will choose the difficulty of the physical activity based on the group’s interest and ability level. If you are interested in a different level, we can also put together a private itinerary specifically for you. Please also don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions!

3. Can I have vegetarian/ special diet food?

  • Yes.  Please advise us if you have any food restrictions or requests. If we know in advance, we can accommodate vegetarian and lactose-free diets. We can also typically accommodate gluten free diets when given enough notice.

4. What is your Cancellation Policy?

5. Should I get Travel Insurance?

  • We recommend that you do. Travel insurance can be purchased to cover penalty costs if you need to cancel or change your travel plans (subject to approval of claim by the insurer). It also can provide medical and emergency assistance protection, as well as some loss and delay coverage. Travel insurance can be purchased directly from Evergreen Escapes.

6. Should I tip my guide?

  • We take great pride in delivering memorable adventures for each and every client. As a result, sometimes our clients are inspired to show their appreciation in the form of a gratuity. While tips are not expected, our guides traditionally receive an amount consistent with the rest of the service industry in the U.S., somewhere between 10% and 20%.
