Get the ultimate Oregon experience as you explore the incredible waterfalls of Silver Falls State Park and luscious pinot noirs of the Willamette Valley. Learn how these two Oregon treasures are linked by a fiery natural history while taking to the trails on foot and tasting fine wine with your small group and TripAdvisor ‘Hall of Fame’ guide.

Start your morning in Oregon’s largest state park, Silver Falls. Breathe in the scent of an evergreen forest, pick salmonberries in the summer, and get gently misted by one of the Park’s glistening falls. Visit both the North and South Falls, walking with your guide along peaceful nature trails to experience these iconic natural wonders from different angles. Venture along a path that takes you behind the falls, where you can watch the water create a flowing curtain for the cave you’re standing in!

Spend your afternoon tasting pinot noirs and other fine wines in the relaxed settings of three boutique wineries. Take in the rolling hillsides and serene vineyards of the Willamette Valley and learn how the terroir of the land influences the wine in your glass! In between tastings, you’ll enjoy Oregon’s culinary bounty with a fresh, local lunch.

In the past two decades Oregon has become a world-class wine state, with 17 approved wine growing regions (AVAs) and more than 450 wineries producing 72 varieties. Join us and find out why we’re so excited about Oregon wines!

SAMPLE ITINERARY

8-8:30A: Downtown Pickups

9:30A: Arrive at Silver Falls State Park

Make stops at two of the area’s most scenic waterfalls. With a walk of about 10 minutes, going down 75 stone steps, you’ll have the opportunity to view the waterfalls from the erosion-carved rock amphitheater behind the curtain of falling water. We’ll stop to press coffee, make tea, and have a light snack, usually at the second of these waterfall stops around 11:00 am.

12:30P: Arrive at the first of three winery visits that will carry you through the Willamette Valley wine country towards Portland.

If the weather is good, enjoy lunch outdoors. In most cases, this will be at a winery in the Eola-Amity Hills near the state capitol, Salem. We’ll travel north from there, along the Dundee Hills and toward the Chehalem Mountains, all beloved wine regions with distinctive soils.

On private tours, we do not include tasting fees. This allows you to benefit from any wine purchases you make, as most wineries waive these some or all of these fees with purchase. If you do not purchase any way, please expect to pay tasting fees of $25 per person at each winery.

5:30P: Approximate arrival back in downtown Portland
